Found Money
One or more characters find a bunch of money and have to decide whether or not to turn it into the police. Usually it makes the gang turn on each other.

- The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis: Season 2, episode 7, "Maynard G. Krebs, Boy Millionaire" (1960). Maynard finds a purse full of money and turns it in, but it's not claimed, so he gets to keep it and spends it on a big party.
- The Odd Couple: Season 1, episode 20, "A Taste of Money" (1971). Phillip, a boy in the building, suddenly seems to have a lot of money. At first, he tells Oscar and Felix he robbed a bank, but eventually he confesses that he found $2,000 in a trash can. So Oscar and Felix set out to find the money's rightful owners.
- Sanford and Son: Season 1, episode 12, "The Suitcase Case" (1972). Lamont picks up an old suitcase that Fred thinks is junk, but when he opens it, they discover it's full of cash. Fred wants to spend the money, but Lamont is nervous and wants to turn it into the police.
- Good Times: Season 2, episode 12, "The Windfall" (1974). James finds a bag full of $29,000 that was stolen from a supermarket. He wants to keep it, but Florida wants him to turn it into the police. He does but secretly keeps $2,000 and tells Florida it was only $27,000.
- Barney Miller: Season 2, episode 17, "Fear of Flying" (1976). A man finds a briefcase containing $3,500 in cash and turns it into the precinct. After no one claims the money for 30 days, he returns in episode 21, "The Kid," to retrieve it.
- Taxi: Season 1, episode 3, "Blind Date" (1978). Latka finds $2,000 under the back seat of a cab he's repairing, and the gang can't decide what to do with it. Alex suggests they let Latka have it, and the others agree when they see how angry the idea makes Louie.
- Too Close for Comfort: Season 5, episode 11, "Finders Keepers" (1985). Henry and Monroe find a bag of cash and plan to keep it, but Muriel talks them into turning it into the police station, where the man who lost it is already waiting to claim it.
