Toupée or Not Toupée
A bald male character temporarily wears a toupée. Usually it looks ridiculous on him. He always gets rid of it by the end of the episode.

- The Dick Van Dyke Show: Season 1, episode 14, "Buddy, Can You Spare a Job?" (1961). Mel sports a toupée so Buddy can no longer make fun of him for being bald, and Buddy is too speechless to respond.
- The Addams Family: Season 1, episode 31, "Uncle Fester's Toupée" (1965). Uncle Fester's pen pal is coming to meet him for the first time, and he's told her a few lies about his appearance, so he wears an over-the-top toupée in attempt to match his phoney persona.
- The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Season 1, episode 7, "Toulouse-Lautrec is One of My Favorite Artists" (1970). Murray takes over hosting the news while Ted is out sick, and he wears a terrible toupée in a futile attempt to look better on television.
- WKRP in Cincinnati: Season 1, episode 10, "A Date with Jennifer" (1979). Les gets a toupée for a special award dinner he's attending with Jennifer as his date.
- Night Court: Season 8, episode 19, "To Sleep, No More" (1991). Bull wins a free toupee in a contest, and his new look attracts throngs of women.
- Cheers: Season 11, episode 12, "Sunday Dinner" (1993). Frasier is dating his young secretary, and he tries out a toupée to make himself look younger.
- Seinfeld: Season 6, episode 13, "The Scofflaw" (1995). Inspired by a friend who started wearing a toupee, George buys one, and it boosts his confidence, but Elaine isn't happy about the new George, and she throws it out the window in the following episode.
