A character dates someone who instantly becomes obsessed with them, and even if the character breaks up with them, they won't leave them alone.

- The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Season 3, episode 19, "Romeo and Mary" (1973). Mary's blind date starts harassing her with calls, visits, gifts, and even a giant billboard, making her afraid to leave her house or answer her phone.
- Taxi: Season 1, episode 10, "Men are Such Beasts" (1978). Tony dates a new cab driver who becomes a little too clingy, so he breaks up with her, but she still refuses to leave him alone.
- WKRP in Cincinnati: Season 2, episode 18, "Les's Groupie" (1980). Les dates a fan who moves herself into his house and takes over his whole life.
- Cheers: Season 3, episode 12, "A Ditch in Time" (1984). Sam dates a woman who was in the same mental health facility as Diane, and she becomes so obsessed with him that she refuses to leave him alone.
- Sledge Hammer!: Season 2, episode 4, "Wild About Hammer" (1987). A young uniformed police officer sees Sledge aprehend some suspects and instantly becomes obsessed with him. She goes to his house to cook him dinner, and refuses to leave, and he tries to use force to get her out, she shoots at him and grazes his head.
- Head of the Class: Season 2, episode 20, "Don't Play with Matches" (1988). Simone's computer date, Oswald, follows her around and insists she go on dates with him even though she's not interested, and it gets to the point where she has to hide at her friends' houses to get away from him.
- Herman's Head: Season 1, episode 5, "Fatal Distraction" (1991). Herman spends the night with an amiable woman he met at a bar, and she instantly becomes obsessed with him and won't leave him alone.
- Seinfeld: Season 4, episode 23, "The Pilot" (1993). Elaine goes on one date with NBC executive Russell Dalrymple, and he becomes obsessed with her and continues calling her for two months, then quits his job and joins Greenpeace to impress her.
- Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place: Season 1, episode 9, "Two Guys, a Girl and a Chance Encounter" (1998). Sharon finds a "Missed Connections" ad that sounds like it could be about Pete, so Berg answers it, pretending to be Pete, and sets up a meeting with the woman, who becomes so obsessed with Pete that she sneaks into Berg's bedroom with a baseball bat and warns him to stay away from her and Pete.
