- The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis: Season 2, episode 27, "Spaceville" (1961). The Army selects Dobie to join a chimpanzee named Corporal Killroy in a space travel experiment that requires them to live in a simulated space capsule for 30 days.
- The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis: Season 4, episode 25, "The Little Chimp that Couldn't" (1963). The dean of the junior college wants to transfer an underperforming chimpanzee named Seymour from Dobie and Maynard's psychology class to the medical research wing, but he gives Maynard one week to teach Seymour some useful skills to justify keeping him in the class.
- Gilligan's Island: Season 1, episode 3, "Voodoo Something to Me" (1964). While Gilligan is bathing in the lagoon, a chimp puts on his clothes and convinces the Skipper that a voodoo curse turned Gilligan into a chimp. Later, Gilligan sees the chimp wearing the Skipper's hat and thinks the same voodoo curse turned Skipper into a chimp.
- The Addams Family: Season 1, episode 28, "My Son, the Chimp" (1965). When an explosion from one of Uncle Fester's magic spells sends Pugsley through a trapdoor, leaving an escaped chimp wearing Pugsley's shirt in his place, Fester thinks he accidentally turned Pugsley into a chimp.
- The Munsters: Season 1, episode 25, "Come Back, Little Googie" (1965). Eddie's new friend Googie comes to stay and gets on everyone's nerves with his practical jokes, so Grandpa tries to turn him into a bunny. Instead, when Grandpa pulls back his curtain, he finds a chimp and thinks it's Googie, but it's just another one of Googie's pranks.
- Get Smart: Season 2, episode 10, "The Greatest Agent on Earth" (1966). Max discovers that a chimp was an accomplice to a murder at a circus.
- The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Season 4, episode 9, "Love Blooms at Hemple's" (1973). Mary produces promos for a documentary about chimps, and one of the chimps comes to the newsroom, leading to a practical joke on Ted.
- Mork & Mindy: Season 1, episode 17, "Mork Goes Erk" (1979). Mork liberates a chimpanzee from the zoo and takes it home, where Mindy explains that it would be better off back in the zoo.
- Mork & Mindy: Season 3, episode 6, "Mork, the Monkey's Uncle" (1980). After a chimpanzee disappears from the zoo, Mork brings home a baby chimp to protect it from disappearing too.
- Night Court: Season 3, episode 19, "Monkey Business" (1986). A woman is arrested for freeing an orangutan from a science lab, and the orangutan is brought into the courtroom as evidence. When Bull finds out what the scientist was doing to the orangutan, he refuses to give him back.
- Cheers: Season 6, episode 13, "Woody for Hire Meets Norman of the Apes" (1988). Cliff is surprised when Norm tells him he expects to be paid for painting Cliff's condo because Cliff thinks painting is so easy a monkey could do it. To prove his point, he introduces the guys to an orangutan in overalls. Later, Norm brings that same orangutan to Cheers dressed as a mailman.
- The Larry Sanders Show: Season 2, episode 9, "Larry Loses Interest" (1993). A monkey famous for grabbing Larry's balls in a previous episode makes a return appearance and does the same gag.
- Wings: Season 5, episode 18, "Moonlighting" (1994). Joe tells the gang a story about one off season when he had to take a job flying a famous chimp around the country.
- Seinfeld: Season 6, episode 22, "The Face Painter" (1995). Kramer gets in a banana peel fight with a chimpanzee at the zoo, and the zookeeper demands that he apologize to the chimp.
- Frasier: Season 7, episode 19, "Morning Becomes Entertainment" (2000). While filling in hosting a morning show, Frasier has to cook breakfast alongside a cooking chimp.
